Older Perth homes are more vulnerable because many were built with ageing damp-course materials, double-brick cavities and lime-based mortar that absorbs moisture easily.

We begin by inspecting the affected wall and testing moisture levels. We also assess the condition of the mortar, bricks, damp course, cavity and surrounding ground levels to identify the likely source of the moisture.
From there, we recommend the right repair method for your home. In most Perth homes, we use a mechanical damp-course system. This involves removing the lowest course of bricks, clearing the cavity of rubble, installing a new damp-proof barrier, and re-laying the bricks. This solution is long-lasting and guaranteed.
Is It Rising Damp or Another Moisture Problem?
Not every damp wall has rising damp. Similar damage often comes from leaking pipes, blocked gutters, poor drainage, cracked render, garden beds against the wall or paving above the damp course.

Rising Damp Repair Methods Used in Perth Homes
There are different damp proofing treatments available depending on what is required to solve the rising damp issue. - Silicone injection method

- Mechanical damp-course replacement
The lowest course of bricks is removed in manageable sections. The wall cavity is cleared of rubble, a new physical damp-proof membrane is installed and the bricks are relaid.
For internal walls, damaged plaster is removed and replaced where included in the scope of work. This method restores a physical damp barrier and allows the cavity to be cleaned at the same time.
